just came back from kranji
received a text msg early in the morning from 2nd bro-in-law
its an invite to 'kranji farm resort' to celebrate 2nd sis's birthday
supposed to be a surprise for her
bro-in-law fetched sis there in the afternoon to check in
while the rest of us went in the evening with a cake
all of us were quite excited abt the resort
as it was highly recommended that its good for a get-away
and it feels like overseas as there are some natural features
but it turned out to be a total flop!
a really long drive up to 'neo tio lane'
45 mins to be exact
arrived at the farm resort and headed to villa 17
the outside did impressed me a little
cause it look as though its a bungalow..
with a car pouch right outside the door
but the inside is totally 'cannot make it'
the moment you enter, you see a very small bathroom
followed by a stairs with 3 steps
and then a queen-sized bed, a plasma, a mini cupboard, and a mini fridge
then thats it.. the whole area is small small small!
we hardly have space to walk about
the balcony is also very small!
and yupp, many natural creatures!
spiders, ants, milipedes..!
almost freak me out!
headed out for dinner at the seafood restuarant
dinner was really good
good food good value
our menu included:
1) seafood 'LALA' bee hoon (the signature dish)
2) sambal kangkong
3) claypot braised tofu
4) fried chicken wings
5) baby kailan with beancurd skin
6) crab fried rice
7) crispy fried sotong
8) chili crab
9) salted egg york crab (new flavour, another signature dish)
10) the 'man-tou' for the crab
all the food came in super big portion
and the total cost is abt 300..
so much cheaper than 'jumbo seafood' and 'no signboard' that we always go
headed back to the villa for the cake cutting
many funny things happened
got a ice-cream cake from swensens
due to the long journey, the cake was a little melted
and also due to the lack of facilities there, we do not have proper knife, spoons and plates
so we practiced survivor skills!
sis cut the cake with plastic spoon!
and then we ate the cake as it is.. without cutting
with some plastice spoons and chopsticks we took from the restaurant for our take-away dishes
first time seeing people eating cake with chopsticks!
its weird but fun!
i will not want to go back there again
its really just a get-away meant for couples
the space is not even enough to cater to 10people!
another long ride back home
all drained!
i would think twice to travel that distance even thou the seafood restaurant there is good
